WFC Strengthens Coordination on Food Security Efforts Through Quarterly Stakeholders Review Meeting.

Yei, South Sudan - Women for Change (WFC) Yei Sub-Field Office, under the NACOFS project, successfully hosted the second Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) Quarterly Stakeholders Monitoring and Review Meeting, bringing together government officials, implementing partners, and community representatives to assess progress and strengthen collaboration in addressing food security challenges in Yei County.

The meeting provided a platform for partners to present updates on project activities implemented from August to date, highlighting key achievements, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations to guide future interventions. The Nutrition and Agriculture Community Food Security (NACOFS) project aims to improve food security, nutrition, and livelihoods for vulnerable households in Yei County through agricultural development, capacity building, and community empowerment. Participants included representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Cooperative and Rural Development, the Payam Director of Yei Town, lead farmers, and implementing consortium partners OFAO and YTTC. The session served as an open forum for evaluating the collective impact of ongoing food security and livelihood interventions in the county. In her remarks, Mrs. Rose Doru, Payam Director for Yei Town Payam, applauded WFC for organizing what she described as a critical review platform that brings the government and implementing partners together to reflect on progress and address challenges, especially amid the current security situation. “Partners should always involve the government in their activities right from the planning stages,” said Mrs. Doru. “Such collaboration ensures better coordination, alignment with community priorities, and sustainability of projects.” Implementing partners commended WFC for facilitating regular review and learning spaces that help track implementation performance and improve coordination.

They emphasized that these engagements are essential for strengthening resilience and sustaining food security gains in the region. WFC reaffirmed its commitment to promoting effective coordination, transparency, and accountability among stakeholders under the NACOFS project. The organization continues to play a key role in fostering collaboration between local authorities, partners, and community groups to enhance agricultural productivity and improve livelihoods in Yei County.
